From their social media post: "Education and access to information have always provided the catalysts for meaningful social change, and young people the energy to bring it about, which is why we were so happy that @fusetv stopped by last week to do a piece on our one of a kind program, in their innovative format to inform the millenial on the go."
This class began in 1990 with teacher, Estelle Jacobson, who was in her late 60s at the time. Rosemary Welden took over the class from a temporary teacher, who came in upon Estelle's passing, and taught through October 2009 when she fell ill. I was then honored to carry on this legacy and was asked to keep the class alive.
On Saturdays at 9:30am in the Summer and 10am in the Fall and Winter, we meet at Hurricane Street on the Marina del Rey Peninsula and the water's edge. Bring a mat, a large sheet or towel to place under your mat and your fabulous self! I am often asked what style of yoga we practice. This class is for all level practitioners and can range from a more rigorous vinyasa flow to a gentle yin class. Newcomers to yoga and those with injuries are encouraged to join in. My intention is that all students have a healing, safe practice.
Feel free to show up when we are there or you can join our Meetup group, Free Beach and Outdoor Yoga for more information and to register for class.
